This CD is a musical depiction of the three persons of the Trinity, as realized in the sacred organ music of Johann Sebastian Bach. Seventeen selections, taken from various collections in the Bach organ repertoire, trace the story of the Trinity in Bach's marvelously evocative music. The program opens and concludes with the massive Prelude and Fugue in E Flat, the "bookends" for Bach's Clavierübung III. The chorales are taken from the Orgelbüchlein, the Clavierübung III, the Schübler set, the Eighteen, and miscellaneous works. They include the whimsical setting of These are the holy Ten Commandments, the moving Lord God, now unlock thy heaven, and the epic treatment of Come, Lord God, Holy Spirit. The three sections of the CD present musical descriptions of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit -- some of Bach's most beautiful and profoundly descriptive music. The CD will be shipped to you in a regular CD jewel case, and includes a 12-page booklet with notes on the music. The total playing time is 56:32.
